📚 On the eve of the new school year, the Ministry of Education and Research discussed ensuring equal access to education and preventing school dropout among Roma children. The event brought together decision-makers, experts, and community representatives to identify concrete solutions.
➡ The discussions addressed both existing challenges and measures supporting the participation of Roma children in the educational process. These measures include merit-based scholarships, free meals, and a one-time allowance of 1,000 lei. This year, 120 Roma students will have the opportunity to receive merit-based scholarships of 1,200 lei per month. Starting September 1, 2025, all students in grades I–IX will receive free meals, and each student will receive a one-time allowance of 1,000 lei. These measures aim to increase school enrollment, reduce absenteeism, and improve academic performance, including for Roma children.
