Position: Project Coordinator – Employment and Integration / Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
Overall Purpose of the Position: Facilitate the employment and integration of Roma and non-Roma individuals displaced from Ukraine, as well as host community members, while promoting awareness and prevention of gender-based violence (GBV). This role involves direct collaboration with refugees, economic agents, public institutions, and relevant partners to achieve project objectives.
The Public Association "Union of Roma Youth of the Republic of Moldova 'Tărnă Rom'" is a non-governmental, apolitical, and non-profit organization.
The Association’s Goals:
- Contributing to the development of cultural, educational, social, and economic strategies for the Roma population;
- Ensuring and defending the rights, interests, and legitimate freedoms of the Roma;
- Raising public awareness regarding the issues faced by the Roma community;
- Promoting and supporting Roma in the Republic of Moldova.
Currently, the Association is implementing the project "Creating Educational Opportunities and Facilitating Employment Inclusion for Roma Refugees in the Republic of Moldova," funded by UNHCR. To support the logistical framework of its activities, the Association announces a competition for the position of Project Coordinator for Employment and Integration / Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Objectives of the Position:
Project Coordinator for Employment and Integration / Gender-Based Violence (GBV):
Main Responsibilities:
Employment and Socio-Economic Integration:
- Survey refugees on their work preferences and skills, identify employment opportunities, and facilitate collaboration with potential employers;
- Organize informational sessions on job opportunities and support the employment process for at least 40 Roma individuals.
Gender-Based Violence (GBV):
3. Organize and conduct awareness sessions on Gender-Based Violence for adult women;
4. Refer GBV cases to competent authorities and relevant partners.
Education and Information:
5. Organize and conduct sexual education sessions for minors;
6. Promote training and education opportunities for refugees;
7. Disseminate success stories of Roma integrated into the labor market.
Monitoring and Reporting:
8. Collect and analyze disaggregated data on activity progress;
9. Develop and prepare monthly, quarterly, and final reports on employment and GBV activities;
10. Identify risks, challenges, and recommend solutions for improving processes;
11. Prepare and present the participant lists and evaluation summaries to the project coordinator.
Candidate Requirements:
Education and Previous Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Social and Human Sciences / Economic and Administrative Fields / Human Rights and Gender Equality / Education and Professional Training / Health and Protection;
- Experience in a similar position or relevant work experience (experience in the associative sector is an advantage).
Skills and Competencies:
- Fluency in Romanian; knowledge of English (A2 level), Russian, Romani, and/or Ukrainian is an advantage;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel);
- Excellent organizational, implementation, and facilitation skills for Roma inclusion in the labor market;
- Ability to work effectively in intercultural environments and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders;
- Understanding of and commitment to gender equality and inclusion principles;
- Empathy, seriousness, punctuality, and willingness to attend relevant training;
- Ability to work with documents, meet deadlines, and comply with organizational rules and procedures;
- Ability to work independently and in a team, in a dynamic environment;
- Responsible, detail-oriented, punctual, well-organized, and dedicated;
- Integrity and professional discretion.
