Today at the EWG meeting, we discussed alternative mechanisms for the schooling of Roma refugee children, focusing on their initial implementation in Chisinau and subsequently across the entire territory of the Republic of Moldova. At the government meeting, alongside the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ivan Duminică, and representatives of UNICEF and UNHCR, we addressed several essential aspects.

We emphasized the necessity of Romanian language courses for 9th and 12th-grade students, discussing ways to obtain certificates in this regard. Additionally, we evaluated the possibility of organizing summer camps dedicated to the study of the Romanian language to enhance the inclusion of refugee children.

We also analyzed statistics regarding the number of refugee children enrolled in schools and the importance of their vaccination in the context of public health.

Through close collaboration between partners and the Ministry of Education, we aim to create a conducive environment for the integration and optimal development of Roma refugee children within the educational system of the Republic of Moldova.
